Electricity / utility bill scam

Mgl gas disconnection update scam So today my land lord sends me a message saying my gas pipeline will get disconnected. I was like there is nothing showing due. But still out of curiosity I call the number and then the guy didn't even ask me details of my CA number just the mobile number on which message came. But luckily I saw the gas was registered on his daughter's name and her number was different. The guy on call even gave wrong apartment number which raised second suspicion in my mind. Very swiftly he tells me send a message" bill not update" so I remembered the grammar in the message also not correct but I played along. The guy tells me since u have been paying it online on autopay it's not updated in the system. We will share u the file. He sent me a file which is. Apk. I started telling him it's not a pdf file and why he is sending apk file. I asked him share the local mgl office address then that guy tells me app head office jao and hung up my call. Has anyone faced this? What's your take was this a scam? Tdlr :Scammer sending me apk file to update bill 😏.
